Blockage

The project reinterprets Patrick Geddes’s historic Tel Aviv block through the contemporary mechanism of plot-based renewal. Using the Gimpel–HaNevi’im block as a case study, it proposes a framework in which independently renewed plots contribute to a shared urban strategy: increasing density, eliminating private-car dependency, diversifying housing, and reconnecting open space. By combining the plot as the unit of action with the block as the coordinating urban framework, the project transforms incremental development into a tool for giving Tel Aviv’s existing fabric a second life.
